“The demand for the resignation or dismissal of Lumir Abdixhiku is a demand of over 150 delegates of the LDK Assembly. This demand is not directed against anyone,” Gecaj said in a statement to “Bota sot.”

He emphasized that the party, founded by Ibrahim Rugova, has ended up in third place in three consecutive elections, a result he described as unacceptable. According to him, a deep reflection and changes are needed to return the LDK to first place. “Simply, in three rounds of elections we have remained in third place, and this is unacceptable for the party of Ibrahim Rugova. We must reflect and bring about changes that raise us to first place, where the party with the strongest baggage deserves,” Gecaj added.

Meanwhile, MP Armend Zemaj addressed the chairman with an appeal to convene an Extraordinary Assembly and call internal elections. He sees this as the necessary step to pave the way for the party’s future victories. “The most sincere call for the LDK chairman is to sit down, convene the Extraordinary Assembly and call extraordinary elections. Let us pave the way for LDK’s victories,” Zemaj was quoted as saying.
