Zejnullah Gashi, the Chief State Prosecutor, has praised the efforts of the Special Prosecution Office of the Republic of Kosovo, the Kosovo Police and other law enforcement institutions in handling the case involving war crimes in the Jashari neighborhood in the village of Prekaz, Skenderaj Municipality.

He said the institutions were involved in every stage of the criminal proceedings, from the initial investigations through to the filing of an indictment against 35 people suspected of participating in war crimes.
According to Gashi, this is considered one of the most serious and sensitive cases to have occurred during the most recent war in Kosovo.
The press release emphasized that holding those who ordered and perpetrated these crimes accountable has been and remains the mission of the Office of the State Prosecutor, with the aim of uncovering the truth and delivering justice.
The Chief State Prosecutor also said that the work of the judicial authorities and law enforcement institutions on this matter represents an important step in addressing crimes committed during the war in Kosovo.
