Allison Guerriero, who had a romantic relationship with former senior FBI official Charles McGonigal, was found dead in her apartment in Boynton Beach, Florida.

She had become publicly known for the strong accusations she had made against McGonigal, who has since been sentenced to six years and six months in prison and with whom she lived for 18 months.
Just a few hours before her death was discovered, Guerriero shared a series of messages on the social network X, fiercely attacking the Federal Bureau of Investigation. In a video she posted, she openly stated: “I hate the FBI.”
In another recording, she commented on the McGonigal case and called for public attention to also be directed toward other figures within the agency. “This is the problem with Charles McGonigal. Now you know his name, but you didn’t before. You knew Jim Comey, Chris Wray… all the well-known names. Why don’t you start digging into those you’ve never heard of?” she said.
The deceased woman’s father, Bill Guerriero, told the media that the cause of death had not yet been determined and that the family was awaiting the autopsy results. “We really don’t know anything. We are waiting to gain access to the medical examiner’s report. It could have been an accident, a fall—anything is possible,” he said.
Official sources from the Boynton Beach Police Department confirmed that officers went to the residence at around 8:03 p.m. on Thursday. According to the authorities, “there do not appear to be any signs of criminal activity,” while the investigation continues and the conclusions of the forensic examination are awaited.
For years, Guerriero had been a vocal critic of her former partner’s activities. She claimed that during the period they lived together, she had uncovered information that led her to believe the former agent had been involved in unlawful acts.
According to her account, in 2017 McGonigal had received $80,000 from a former Albanian intelligence official. She later said that she had found exactly $80,000 in their home. “My mind immediately went to what we call ‘flash rolls’—money given to informants or undercover agents to finance operations,” she explained.
When she confronted him about the money, Guerriero said the former FBI official told her he had won it betting on a baseball game.
Their relationship ended in 2018, when she realized that her partner had no intention of divorcing his legal wife. After the breakup, Guerriero said she began communicating with people inside the Federal Bureau to report her suspicions. “The idea had taken hold in my mind: this man is a traitor. He was taking bribes to trade influence,” she recalled.
She maintained that she had spoken with former superiors and other FBI officials, but that her warnings had not been taken seriously. “Whenever I tried to talk to the FBI about this matter, they refused to listen to me. I notified his former boss, I told other people as well, but no one lifted a finger,” she said.
Charles McGonigal, who once headed the FBI’s counterintelligence division in New York, was arrested in January 2023 and sentenced to six years and six months in prison on charges related to illegal payments and his dealings with Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska.
Meanwhile, the circumstances surrounding Allison Guerriero’s death remain under investigation. So far, the authorities have not provided an official cause, and police stress that there are no visible signs of a criminal act.
