The situation caused by the fires in Mat remains critical, while the blaze engulfing the villages of Ulzë continues to spread. The flames have covered a large area, fueled by the steep mountainous terrain, strong winds and drought.

The fire has burned homes and shepherds’ huts, while other structures are under threat. The situation is currently most serious in the villages of Lundre and Madhesh, where homes are at risk, while ground efforts to contain the fire have continued for more than a week.
The fire front has advanced along an east-west axis and has now entered the protected park of Shkopet. Local authorities, supported by the Armed Forces, are continuing efforts to extinguish the fire, but bringing it under control appears difficult without aerial intervention.
Meanwhile, another fire is threatening Mount Balgjaj. The blaze, which started on the Selishtë side in Dibër, has reached the vicinity of the Balgjaj ridge, putting another forested area of Mat district at risk.
In Bulqizë, the fire that broke out several days ago on the mountain above the village of Vajkal also remains active, while the flames have moved toward the village of Shëngjun, in the Municipality of Klos.
