Karakaçi said that the 110 kV lines supplying the Shkozet substation were disconnected at 15:40 because of the flames. As a result, the city of Durrës was left without electricity.
According to the minister, the situation remains serious, while firefighters are still working to fully extinguish the blaze. At their request and to ensure safety, one of the 110 kV lines remains disconnected.
Meanwhile, the Distribution System Operator (OSSH) intervened immediately, using alternative lines to supply some areas. This measure enabled the partial restoration of electricity in Durrës.
However, Karakaçi explained that supply through network loops cannot be maintained for a long period because the load on the grid is high.
Crews from the Transmission System Operator (OST) are also at the scene. They will begin repairing the damage to the 110 kV line as soon as the flames have been completely extinguished and conditions allow the work to be carried out safely.
“OST and OSSH crews are on full alert and are working to restore electricity as quickly as possible in all affected areas,” Minister Enea Karakaçi said, asking residents for their understanding until the situation fully returns to normal.
