Erin Piacenti, a vice president at Bank of America, was known not only for her professional success, but also as a devoted wife, a loving daughter and a new mother. She left behind her daughter Madison, who was just five months old.
“Erin’s life was not defined by the circumstances of her death, but by the way she lived it,” the 32-year-old’s family said.
According to relatives, Erin was very close to her family and friends, highly capable in her work and someone who brought warmth and energy to everyone around her.
“Becoming a mother was the greatest desire of her life, while Madison brought her the greatest joy imaginable,” reads the page for the fundraising campaign launched for the girl’s future.
Erin and her husband, Frank Piacenti, met while studying at Fordham University Law School. Later, both pursued careers in law and business.
The couple married on August 10, 2024, and were living through the period of building the family they had dreamed of. They had celebrated their wedding anniversary, returned from a family trip and were planning the future with their newborn daughter.
A year earlier, Erin and Frank had bought their first home in Chester, New Jersey, where they had begun building their family life.
“They were both preparing to build a life with their daughter. That life changed unimaginably in an instant,” the family said.
Now, relatives are concerned about Madison’s future, as she will grow up without her mother’s presence. For this reason, a fundraising campaign has been created, calling on people who wish to honor Erin’s memory to contribute to the young girl’s future.
Erin’s death has also deeply affected her colleagues at Bank of America. She had worked for around 18 months as a vice president in the business selection and conflicts group.
Her colleagues remember her as a skilled and well-liked professional. The bank also expressed its grief over the death of “a valued colleague and friend.”
According to authorities, Erin Piacenti was stabbed by Pamela Cisneros, 49, a mother of three from Queens who had experienced chronic mental health problems.
Tak Kam, 68, a father from Rhode Island, was also seriously injured in the same attack.
New York police officers shot Cisneros dead after, according to authorities, she attempted to attack them while holding a knife in each hand.
Erin was killed just as she had begun building the family of her dreams. She left behind her husband and young daughter, who will one day come to know her mother through the memories of those who loved her.
