Former Democratic Party MP Ervin Salianji has leveled serious accusations against the governing majority, linking it to organized crime and corruption.

In a social media post, Salianji said that Edi Rama and his government represent “the shame of Albania.” According to him, during Rama’s time in government, 390 senior officials have been removed or convicted of serious criminal offenses, ranging from prostitution and organized crime to trafficking and ordinary theft.
He claims that the government deliberately turned the country into a cannabis-producing state and subsequently built the infrastructure for cocaine and heroin trafficking.
Salianji mentioned the arrest of two deputy prime ministers, as well as investigations into ministers, mayors and close associates of those in power. His statements also included the head of SHISH, whom he accused of damaging national security institutions.
According to the former Democratic MP, crime is no longer outside the state but has become part of its structures and is being used to fight citizens. He said that Edi Rama has built a reality in which crime no longer tries to influence power because, in his view, all power has been handed over to crime.
Salianji claims that the prime minister has delegated governance to crime through Ergys Agasi, Belinda Balluku, Ron Yefet and others, while describing Rama’s government as the most corrupt in Europe.
He also accused the prime minister of continuing to boast in the United States about the country’s position, while Albania is being emptied. According to Salianji, nearly 1 million Albanians have left the country.
He went on to praise Albanians living abroad who, in his view, raise the Albanian flag high through their work, knowledge and success. By contrast, Salianji said, professionals in Albania face obstacles and are forced to bow before people involved in crime who have assumed positions of power in order to start any kind of work.
“This is not the Albania that Albanians deserve. This is the Albania that Edi Rama built,” he said, calling for the prime minister and his government to leave as soon as possible—not in the interest of a party, but to save Albania and Albanians.
