Interior Minister Ervin Demo held a press conference alongside State Police Director General Skënder Hita.
In his remarks, Demo expressed concern about minors’ involvement in violent protests, saying that 269 people under the age of 18 had so far been taken into custody.

“It is concerning to see minors involved in acts of violence on the front lines. A total of 269 people under the age of 18 have been taken into custody. This clearly demonstrates the inter-institutional challenge of addressing this worrying phenomenon and tackling this scourge. We must find the right path and provide the necessary support for minors so that this phenomenon becomes a bitter memory of these past few weeks,” Demo said.
The minister also spoke about those injured, stressing that the violence had reached unprecedented levels. According to figures he made public, a total of 347 people were injured: around 200 State Police officers, 107 protesters and 39 passersby, including several journalists.
