According to Qylafku, stepping down is essential to prevent the situation from worsening and avert the risk of clashes among Albanians. He considers the government cabinet to have lost credibility and moral legitimacy in the eyes of the public.
The imam also warns that ignoring citizens’ demands and insisting on staying in power could leave serious and irreversible consequences for Rama’s political legacy.
In his open letter to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Edi Rama, Qylafku makes a public appeal for him to consider the state of the country and choose to resign, describing this as the only right decision left to him.
According to Qylafku, the prime minister’s departure today would not undo the major damage that has been caused. However, he argues that it would at least be a minimal step toward halting further deterioration and correcting some of the abuses he attributes to the government and its ministers.
Qylafku says that Rama’s cabinet has no credibility or moral legitimacy left among Albanians. He warns that if the prime minister does not listen to reason and continues clinging to office, his political history will be irreparably damaged and he will be remembered as Albania’s most hated prime minister since the time of Mehmet Shehu. In the imam’s view, the time for excuses is over.
In closing, Qylafku stresses that the country and its citizens deserve a different future, free from the corruption and failures of this government. He describes preventing bloodshed and fratricide as the only service Rama can render to Albanians at this moment, ending his message with a demand for immediate resignation.
