Law enforcement authorities in Kosovo have arrested a Turkish citizen, who is accused of committing war crimes in the Krusha region and near Prizren during the armed conflict of 1998-1999.

The detained person is suspected of actively participating in the Krusha Massacre, one of the most severe events of the Kosovo war.
After initial detention at the Prizren Police Station under the order of the Basic Prosecution of that city, the suspect was handed over to investigators of the Special Investigation Unit. These latter operate under the umbrella of the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo.
This sensitive criminal case continues to be handled by the Department for War Crimes, which is an integral part of the Special Prosecution.
Based on parallel sources, the suspect himself went to the police station, after a television program last night mentioned his name as a suspected associate in the formation of the notorious criminal Arkan.
