On Wednesday, the anti-government movement marked its 53rd day. Throughout this entire period, participants arriving from various cities in Albania and from Albanian communities abroad have demanded deep political reforms and raised their voices over the numerous problems affecting social, political, and economic spheres.
Today as well, citizens have gathered in “Skënderbej” Square, and after assembling, as has become a daily practice, they will move along “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard. There, the protest has been ongoing for hours with speeches and chants such as: “Rama, resign,” “Rama to prison, Berisha to prison,” and “Albania is not for sale.”
Just like in the previous gatherings of the Flamingo Revolution, today the unconditional resignation of Prime Minister Rama and his entire cabinet is expected to be demanded, alongside investigations by SPAK into him and former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, for a series of corrupt affairs that have already been found documented by the Special Prosecution Office itself.
While expressing their concerns, the protesters are speaking into the News 24 microphone, just as on every other day of this protest.
