After a protest that lasted several hours in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, thousands of citizens continued marching through the streets of Tirana, repeating as they have every day their demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and his government.
Then, after the rally ended, the protesters headed toward Police Station No. 3, where more than 10 citizens have been detained since the morning following an earlier protest held in front of Parliament, which was accompanied by physical clashes with police.

At first, the crowd passed through central Tirana, then moved to the area known as “9-Katëshet,” and later continued along “Mine Peza” street, where Police Station No. 3 is located and where some of the protesters are being held.
As they moved through the capital, the citizens could be heard chanting “Free the boys” and “Police of crime,” as the march continued toward the police station.
At the same time, the protesters brought back into focus the main demand of this 33-day protest for the departure of Prime Minister Edi Rama, chanting “Rama resign” and “Albania demands revolution.” Among the chants was also the slogan against the political class: “Rama to prison, Berisha to prison.”
Today’s protest followed tensions reported earlier in front of Parliament, where clashes were recorded between citizens and law enforcement forces, as well as the use of tear gas and pepper spray by police.
