A 16-year-old from Tetovo has been detained by police on suspicion of committing the criminal offenses of theft and aggravated theft at religious buildings.
According to the Ministry of Interior, on 05.07.2026 at around 13:20, on “Ilindenska” Street in Tetovo, officers from the Tetovo Internal Affairs Department deprived the minor from Tetovo of his liberty. He is suspected of the criminal offenses of “theft” and “aggravated theft,” and according to the suspicions, during the past month he stole from the church in the village of Bërvenicë and from two mosques in Tetovo.

The Ministry of Interior said that, after the case is fully documented, the appropriate criminal complaint will be filed against the minor.
