Citizens have taken to the streets for the 97th consecutive day, demanding the departure of Prime Minister Edi Rama and his government. Protesters describe the head of government’s resignation as a key demand on which they will not negotiate.

Again this evening, participants gathered with placards and chanted against the government and the political establishment. They said they would not end their resistance until their demands were met.
“Albanians united, the government terrified” and “Albania demands revolution” were among the chants heard at the protest, through which citizens expressed their dissatisfaction with the current government.
Describing their resistance as a battle for political change, the protesters warned that the mobilization would continue in the coming days.
They also announced that a mass protest would be held on September 12.
