Pançe Toshkovski, the Minister of Internal Affairs, announced that from now on, motorcyclists who exceed the speed limit will also be automatically fined by the “Safe City” system.

Previously, for motorcycles, the system recorded only red-light violations. Toshkovski explained that, as of yesterday, automatic speed measurement for motorcycles has also been activated.
According to him, the measure is primarily aimed at strengthening road safety. He stressed that this month, four of the six victims in traffic accidents were motorcyclists.
“Safe City” is currently operational on Corridors 8 and 10, as well as in Skopje, Kumanovo and Tetovo, while it is expected to be installed in Veles, Kavadar and Negotino by mid-September,” Toshkovski said.
Toshkovski also announced that the system would enable citizens of Macedonia to pay fines online. He added that 59 people have died in traffic accidents since the beginning of the year, compared with 96 during the same period last year, marking a decline of around 35 percent.
