QMC: A total of 31 open-area fires, four active and three under control

As of 07:30 on 27/28.08.2026, a total of 31 open-area fires had been recorded. Of these, four are still active, three have been brought under control and 24 have been completely extinguished.

The active fires are located in the following areas: in the Municipality of Saraj, near the village of Kopanicë, involving low vegetation; in the municipalities of Gostivar and Makedonski Brod, from the village of Tërnovo in the Municipality of Gostivar toward the villages of Bitovo, Zagrad and Strajane in the Municipality of Makedonski Brod, involving low forest, low vegetation, pastureland and ferns; in the Municipality of Čaška, above the village of Nezhilovë, at a location known as Svatovi, involving low vegetation and fir trees; and in the Municipality of Jegunovce, near the village of Kopance, involving mixed forest.
