Data from the State Statistical Office show that 3,684 live births were registered in North Macedonia during the second quarter of 2026. Compared with the same period in 2025, this figure fell by 3.0%.

The number of deaths also declined, by 0.6% compared with the second quarter of 2025. In total, 4,689 people died during this period, including 10 infants.
The difference between births and deaths was negative, at -1,005. This means that the number of live births was 1,005 lower than the number of deaths.
During the second quarter of 2026, 2,732 marriages were celebrated, 2.2% fewer than in the same quarter of 2025. Meanwhile, authorities also registered 406 divorces.
