Activist Emir Leçini: The Prime Minister cannot speak of a pledge, he makes promises unkept for 13 years, we will not retreat until his removal

In an interview for News24, Emir Leçini, a student and protester against Edi Rama’s government, stressed that the prime minister is the last person who can speak about the “Besa” (pledge of honor).

He commented on Prime Minister Rama’s statements and the “Besa” document he issued, declaring that the prime minister cannot continue to make promises when he has not kept them during the 13 years he has been in power.

“You cannot make promises after you haven’t kept your word for 13 years. If we agree with what he says, it’s as if we are saying continue with the same methods you have followed. There is no trust left whatsoever in the prime minister or in this political class. Someone who is faithless cannot give a pledge. He is the last person who can speak about the pledge.

He chooses to ignore the protesters and uses a language aimed at an audience that listens to him on TV, not the protesters. He uses this rhetoric, trying to keep that electorate that perhaps remains loyal to him. It is not a good choice to ignore the square. He cannot give a pledge or a promise to the ordinary citizen,” the protester said.
