An intensified police operation on Skopje’s roads carried out last night resulted in sanctions against 262 drivers. Six people were deprived of their freedom for violations related to traffic safety.

The checks were conducted from 18:00 to 01:00 and focused particularly on drivers of motorcycles, mopeds, tricycles and quadricycles.
Of the total measures imposed, 102 were issued against motorcycle and moped drivers. Of these, 93 were penalized for driving without protective helmets, four for using a vehicle with an inappropriate category, while five were caught driving without having passed the driving test.
A further 160 measures were imposed on drivers for various traffic violations. The violations included driving without a driver’s license or vehicle registration certificate, missing registration plates, and running a red light.
The authorities also temporarily confiscated one motorcycle because its registration had expired more than six months earlier.
Six people were arrested under Article 297 of the Criminal Code for offenses related to traffic safety.
