Another patient has died from West Nile fever, Fadil Cana, director of the Clinic for Infectious Diseases, announced this afternoon. The patient had spent 27 days receiving treatment at the clinic.

According to Cana, the patient was a 76-year-old man who had been admitted in an extremely serious condition with the neuroinvasive form of the disease. He had tested positive for West Nile virus and was also suffering from other illnesses.
This is the fourth fatal case of West Nile fever recorded in the country. Meanwhile, 15 patients have recovered and been discharged from the Clinic for Infectious Diseases.
So far, the virus has been confirmed in 36 patients, while new test results are expected in the coming days.
