DUI accused the government today of steering the country toward another wave of price increases through its policies.

According to the party, in less than a month, the price of a liter of diesel has risen from 82.5 to 99.5 denars. The difference amounts to 17 denars, corresponding to an increase of 20.6%. DUI emphasized that the increase recorded in North Macedonia is around four times higher than the average recorded in European Union countries during the comparable period.
DUI warned that the consequences of this price increase would weigh heavily on citizens. The price of 99.5 denars per liter is expected to raise the costs of transportation, food, agriculture and businesses, while also creating additional pressure on inflation. Every truck supplying supermarkets, every bus and every commercial vehicle now costs more, while these expenses are ultimately reflected in the price paid by citizens.
The opposition party claims that the government has left citizens without support in the face of the biggest increase in diesel prices in recent years. While other countries are taking measures by cutting excise duties, providing subsidies and protecting families, the price in the country is approaching 100 denars, while wages and pensions have not changed.
DUI estimates that this increase will be followed by a new wave of price hikes, the cost of which will be felt by every family./Telegrafi/
