Sllaveski: North Macedonia’s Gross Minimum Wage Surpasses That of Seven EU Countries in Purchasing Power

Trajko Sllaveski, Governor of the National Bank of North Macedonia, announced in a post on the social media platform X that the latest Eurostat data show that, in July 2026, the country’s gross minimum wage, calculated in terms of purchasing power, is higher than that in seven European Union member states.

He noted that, based on the same indicator, the gross minimum wage in North Macedonia also exceeds the corresponding wages in all Western Balkan countries, as well as in Turkey.

Referring back to his previous statements, Sllaveski wrote: “Wait a minute—didn’t I say this back in June last year? I responded to the public lynching for telling the truth with a high capacity to absorb hatred :)”.
