How did you react to receiving this award?
For Kazia, the emotions are impossible to describe. She sees this not only as an individual success, but also as an opportunity to prove that Albanian professionals can compete alongside the best in the world. According to her, the sense of pride is even greater because this achievement allows her to represent both herself and Albania.
What does this recognition mean?
By winning “Cybersecurity Woman of the World 2026,” Kazia was ranked the world’s leading woman in cybersecurity. For her, the award shows that women possess the skills, professionalism and determination needed to reach the top and earn prestigious recognition, even in a sector traditionally dominated by men.
What kind of competition did you face?
The ceremony was held in Austria, while the competition was exceptionally strong. The candidates represented 30 countries around the world, and the number of nominations exceeded 5,000. Kazia considers winning among so many professionals a great honor, but also a responsibility.
How prepared are we to face cyberattacks?
According to her, threats in cyberspace are increasing and becoming ever more complex. However, the level of preparedness today is significantly higher than before. Addressing these risks depends fundamentally on technological investment, expanding expertise and raising awareness of cybersecurity.
How did you enter this profession?
A career in cybersecurity had not been a childhood dream for Kazia. She says that there are journeys in life that we do not choose ourselves, and that was also true in her case. Her life changed direction after she returned to Albania, while her career later continued in Istanbul. It was there that she found the discipline, professionalism and passion for this field, which over the years became her mission.
What are your future goals?
Kazia wants to continue her professional journey by helping to build and strengthen public institutions. She also aims to contribute to the education and development of the next generation of professionals, as she believes the most important investment in the future is investment in young people.
Are you considering returning to Albania?
She says she is ready to return to Albania and put her experience at the country’s service. According to Kazia, the time has come for Albanian professionals to bring home the knowledge and experience they have gained abroad.
Do you feel appreciated in Albania?
Kazia says she feels highly appreciated in Albania and that this motivates her even more. Beyond her personal achievement, she appeals to young Albanians who have built careers abroad, encouraging them not to hesitate to return. According to her, Albania needs them and offers them the opportunity to create value, invest their knowledge and help develop the country.
