On this painful anniversary, Elijona has shared a touching message to remember her mother and her sister, Linda, who passed away on July 25, 2021.
Elijona, who was only 14 years old at the time of the tragedy, has recounted through a dedication on social media the immense pain that continues to accompany her and the irreplaceable absence of the two most important people in her life.
Today, at the age of 19, she remembers that she has reached the same age her sister, Linda, was when she tragically lost her life. Elijona has emphasized that only now can she better understand how young her sister was and how many dreams and plans she still had ahead of her.
“I was only 14 years old when I lost you. Today I am 19 years old… the same age you were, Linda, when your life was cut short. Today I understand even more how young you were. You were only 19, with so many dreams, plans, and moments you had not yet lived,” she wrote.
In her message, Elijona has shared that the memory of her mother and sister is the strength that helps her move forward.
She has expressed that she dedicates every achievement and every effort in life to them, with the hope that she is making them proud from above.
At the end of the dedication, Elijona also commemorated the eight other victims of the tragic accident, expressing prayers and support for the families who lost their loved ones on that terrible day.
