For the first time since the Democratic Union for Integration was founded 24 years ago, the office of party leader Ali Ahmeti in Mala Rečica has been furnished with North Macedonia’s national flag. Its presence was noticed during Ahmeti’s meeting with Austrian Ambassador Martin Pammer.

Speaking to TS, Ahmeti explained that the decision was linked to his consistent support for a unitary state, stressing that he had never considered displaying the national flag to be a problem.
“I have always supported a unitary state. This was also a suggestion from foreign ambassadors in the country, who during our meetings proposed that North Macedonia’s national flag be displayed in my office,” Ahmeti said.
He said the move was in line with his belief that the state belongs to all its citizens and that state symbols should be treated with respect.
This symbolic gesture in Ahmeti’s office is intended to convey a message of coexistence, mutual respect and equality among all communities in North Macedonia.
