Through a public statement, Sveçla positively assessed this intervention, confirming that among the detainees are two employees of the Foreigners Division, an official from the Civil Registration Agency, and a foreign national.
Based on his statement, preliminary investigations indicate that the individuals involved allegedly, by exploiting their institutional roles and as intermediaries, offered illegal assistance to interested parties with the aim of monetary gain.
“I welcome the cooperation between the Kosovo Police and the Kosovo Intelligence Agency in this operation, which led to the arrest of two officials from the Foreigners Division, an official from the Civil Registration Agency, and a foreign citizen. There is a suspicion that these individuals, through their official duties and intermediary activities and driven by greed for money, provided services to parties by openly violating legal procedures,” he wrote.
Continuing his reaction, the acting minister reiterated the unwavering commitment to standards of integrity, the rule of law, and transparency for every public servant. He warned that any indication of corruption, misuse of official authority, or breach of public trust will be pursued with maximum dedication and in close partnership with security and justice bodies.
Sveçla stressed that the fight against the phenomenon of corruption and the preservation of the institutions’ image are key pillars to ensure impartial, efficient, and transparent services for everyone. He stated categorically that no one will be tolerated to instrumentalize public office for personal interests, harming the common good and citizens’ right to equal treatment before the law.
