The 2017 promise is shattered, citizen challenges Rama: Where is his face? Irony also directed at Balluku

During the 50th consecutive protest, one of the citizens present expressed deep dissatisfaction with Prime Minister Edi Rama and members of the government cabinet, enumerating the reasons that have driven citizens to take to the streets.

He praised the resilience of the protesters during these weeks of mobilization and drew attention to some statements by executive representatives regarding the gatherings.

“I thank you for your resilience, today we mark the 50th day. We must remind them every day why we are here,” he stressed.

Then, his speech focused on criticism of Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku.

“It is shameful to watch Belinda Balluku trying to dictate to citizens how to act and what the motives of the protest are,” he stated.

Touching on the issue of water supply, the protester recalled a promise by Prime Minister Rama made nine years ago.

“In the capital, in 2026, water is still lacking. In 2017, he declared that it would be the last time we talked about this problem, but years passed and we continue to experience the same situation. Isn’t he ashamed?” he asked ironically.

As the civic protest against the government has reached 50 days, organizers have announced that commitment and participation will continue into the days ahead.
