Lezhë police have cracked down on three cases of narcotic plant cultivation in the areas of Mirditë and Kurbin, leading to the arrest of three people and the destruction of hundreds of cannabis plants.
According to police, the checks were carried out on the ground and from the air, using drones, as well as based on information secured through оперативe channels.

Those arrested were Dritan Nikolli, Vosava Mercina and Jetmit Rrucaj, after checks in Mirditë and Kurbin found them cultivating a total of 436 Cannabis Sativa narcotic plants.
Police announcement:
“During intensive checks across the territory, on the ground and from the air through the use of drones, as well as based on information secured through operative channels, the services of the Mirditë Police Commissariat, the Kurbin Police Commissariat and the Narcotics Investigation Section at the Lezhë Local Police Directorate struck at 3 cases of narcotic plant cultivation. As a result of the police actions:
* Officers of the Mirditë Police Commissariat arrested in flagrante delicto citizen J. R., 21, resident of Durrës, after during checks carried out in the village of Sheshaj, Mirditë, he was caught tending to 222 suspected Cannabis Sativa narcotic plants cultivated in this area.
* The Narcotics Investigation Section at the Lezhë Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with Crime Investigation Specialists of the Kurbin Police Commissariat, arrested in flagrante delicto citizen D. N., 47, resident of Fshat Laç, Kurbin, after he was caught tending to 151 suspected Cannabis Sativa narcotic plants.
* Crime Investigation Specialists of the Kurbin Police Commissariat arrested in flagrante delicto citizen V. M., 44, after 63 suspected Cannabis Sativa narcotic plants were found in the “Rrahu i Pashës” neighborhood of Laç, which she is suspected of tending.
The narcotic plants that were found were destroyed by burning.
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Lezhë for further action,” police said.
