“The capital is under attack, take shelter in safe areas,” moments of fear in Kyiv after powerful explosions in the early hours of the morning

In Kyiv, in the early hours of Saturday, at least five explosions were heard, while authorities warned of a Russian missile attack, according to AFP journalists at the scene.

A few minutes after the first explosion, air raid sirens began sounding across the capital.

“The enemy is attacking the capital with missiles. Stay in safe places!” Tymur Tkachenko, head of the capital’s military administration, wrote on Telegram.
