At today’s observance of the International Day of Reflection and Commemoration of the Srebrenica Genocide, held in the Legislative Chamber, Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi said that Srebrenica remains a permanent and grave stain on the conscience of all humanity.
Gashi said that on that morning, thousands of lives were extinguished, while the lives of thousands of others were changed forever. According to him, Srebrenica has remained in memory as one of the gravest crimes against humanity and as humanity’s greatest failure.

He underlined that commemorating such tragedies should not be reduced to a ceremony alone, but should serve as a call for reflection, justice and moral responsibility.
“Our institutional and moral obligation is to remember and pay tribute to the victims of Srebrenica because their memory is a call to all of us,” Gashi added./Telegrafi/
