Today, events are being held across the United States to mark the 250th anniversary of Independence.
In Washington, DC, Independence Day is being celebrated with massive fireworks, a flyover by fighter jets, and a rally by President Donald Trump.

Festive concerts have also been planned in New York, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles, where well-known names from the music world will take the stage.
The first message for this anniversary was delivered by Vice President JD Vance, who thanked President Donald Trump during a speech in New York. “Today we celebrate 250 years of America, facing the future without fear. We celebrate 250 years, proving what a free people can achieve,” Vance said before sailors, police officers, US emergency workers, as well as dozens of navy chiefs visiting the country from around the world.
During his remarks, Vance read the second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence, which states: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable Rights, and among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
However, some of the planned activities have been interrupted after meteorologists warned of extremely high temperatures and storms, as a scorching heat wave has engulfed parts of the eastern and central United States. Many events across the country have been canceled, while others have been postponed until later in the day.
Last night, in a speech delivered at the iconic Mount Rushmore, US President Donald Trump described the celebration as “one of the most extraordinary days in the history of the world.” He also said that “American identity is under a new attack,” adding that “there has been a determined campaign… to wipe away our history, defame our heroes, erase our values, and indoctrinate our children.”
