MP Ervin Salianji has made it known that he intends to turn to the institutions to guarantee his participation in the race for the leadership of the Democratic Party, emphasizing that this time he will take the process to the end and that he does not rule out the judicial route either.

Speaking on the “Prime News24” program on News24, he revealed that in his previous attempt he had withdrawn in order not to be accused of obstructing the party, while now he believes the moment has come to defend his rights through institutional channels.
Salianji clarified that his ambition to become DP chairman remains unchanged and that he wants the process to take place in a genuinely competitive climate.
In this context, he called on Sali Berisha as well as other opposition figures to come out with a clear position regarding the place that belongs to them within the party until the local elections.
During the conversation, he also commented on the opposition’s behavior regarding the construction files in the capital, bringing into focus the tower near the Palace of Congresses and placing it side by side with the case of the tower in the Taiwan area.
According to him, the silence of political actors on these issues suggests shared responsibility.
“I will try, because last time I didn’t only so that they wouldn’t accuse me of obstructing the party. This time I will turn to the institutions and enter the race, even through the courts, something I didn’t do before. I will be available and will compete for the leadership of the DP, taking the matter to all the institutions to the end. I took a pause and I say it again – to Sali Berisha and every other opposition factor: I will be in the race for party chairman. And I ask: if until the local elections, in order to close all these narratives, Berisha has to tell me what to do? I take a specific district and I win it. But I have my doubts and I have said them openly: they talk about the Taiwan tower, but why doesn’t Sali Berisha speak about the tower near the Palace of Congresses? This is co-theft – responsibility belongs to both sides that remain silent,” he declared.
