In his response, Bardhi emphasizes that it is unacceptable for a person accused of 14 criminal offenses to remain free and continue exercising public functions.
Bardhi also stresses that justice should not wait for political signals or be conditioned by the prime minister’s will, but must operate independently and according to the same standards for everyone.
Gazment Bardhi’s full response:
DAY 32 – Justice without delays!
It is unacceptable for a person accused of 14 criminal offenses — 2 charges of corruption, 2 of money laundering, 2 of concealing assets and 8 of violating equality in public tenders — to remain free and continue exercising public functions, making decisions that directly affect citizens’ lives.
The inaction and delays in the case of Belinda Balluku raise serious questions about the equal enforcement of the law and reinforce the perception that in Albania, justice moves at a different pace for people with power or those protected by power.
The law must be equal for everyone. No exceptions. No privileges. No double standards.
SPAK must act decisively and without unjustified delays, in accordance with the law. The criminal charges are serious and require an institutional response, not silence or stalling.
Justice cannot wait for political signals or be conditioned by the prime minister’s will. It must act independently, with integrity and according to the same standard for everyone.
The 32nd day of waiting is another day on which accountability is being demanded. No one is above the law. No one should be untouchable. Justice must act!
