A fire broke out on the roof of a building at Koşuyolu Training and Research Hospital in Istanbul’s Kartal district, alarming residents and authorities.

According to Turkey’s Anadolu Agency, the fire started on the roof of an additional hospital building that was not in use because it was undergoing renovation. Firefighting teams arrived at the scene and worked to extinguish the flames.
The governor of Istanbul announced that, for safety reasons, 40 patients were taken out of a nearby hospital building and temporarily evacuated. So far, there have been no reports of injuries or fatalities.
After the situation was brought under control, the patients returned to the hospital. Meanwhile, Turkish authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
