Nine people have died in a serious shooting incident in Pennsylvania, United States, in what is suspected to have been a multiple homicide followed by the perpetrator’s suicide.

The incident occurred on Friday afternoon on Perry Street in the city of Erie, Pennsylvania. Police were alerted at around 5:00 p.m. following reports of gunfire at a family residence.
According to preliminary information, a person suspected of being the perpetrator opened fire inside the residence, killing several people, including two children.
Two women were found dead in the street with gunshot wounds.
After the shooting, the suspect barricaded himself inside the residence, where he confronted officers from the SWAT special unit.
Several shots were exchanged during the intervention. According to reports, after the confrontation with police, the suspect allegedly turned the gun on himself and took his own life.
The reported death toll from the incident is nine victims, including the person suspected of being the perpetrator.
