The Appeals Court of the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime has upheld prison sentences totaling more than 100 years for the 16 defendants in Bruno Çobo’s group, who defrauded European citizens through call centers.

The group’s leader, Bruno Çobo, was sentenced to 12 years in prison by the court of first instance, but the sentence was reduced to eight years under the abbreviated trial procedure. Elisa Çaçi, Gilbert Pushani, Valbona Abedinaj and Erion Kastrati were each sentenced to seven years and four months in prison.
Meanwhile, Aldo Pasku, Bruno Gjika, Rezarta Ibrahimi, Orland Cani, Florjan Bregu, Hamit Dobi, Greta Gjoci, Gjin Shelnishta, Antoneta Malo, Silvana Veliu and Mojsi Zuna were each sentenced to six years and eight months in prison.
Bruno Çobo led the group, which made €4.7 million by defrauding European citizens through call centers. Çobo was extradited from Abu Dhabi to Albania on March 13, 2024.
The victims were contacted by phone and offered the opportunity to buy “Amazon” shares online, with the false promise of making large sums of money quickly.
