The Speaker of Kosovo’s Assembly, Albulena Haxhiu, has appealed to protesters gathered in front of the Assembly building to remain calm and avoid any act of violence.

Speaking from the Assembly podium, Haxhiu stressed that the right to protest is protected by the Constitution.
“Violence harms the cause we all want to defend—the cause of the KLA and our liberators. The values of the KLA are not defended through violence,” she said.
The Assembly speaker’s appeal came after several media outlets reported clashes between protesters and members of the Police.
According to these reports, some protesters attempted to enter the Assembly courtyard while several lawmakers were leaving the building.
