Before the meeting, the head of the PDK Parliamentary Group, Arian Tahiri, described the government’s response to the request to amend the law as a positive step. He also praised the position of others, as well as the unity and reaction of citizens against what he called a historic injustice.
According to Tahiri, the PDK has called for the entire political spectrum to take a joint position on this issue. He said that any action in this direction is beneficial.
Tahiri said he expects the relevant committee to meet and the draft law to be submitted to the Assembly for a vote. For the PDK, he emphasized, the primary importance is that the law be put to a vote and adopted.
Speaking about the election of the president, Tahiri called on political forces to sit together and reach a consensus to make the institutions functional. He concluded by saying that supporting the liberation fighters in The Hague should be the main priority of these institutions.
