The “Safe City” project is expected to soon be extended to the territory of the Bitola Sector of Internal Affairs, which will also include the city of Prilep.
The announcement was made by Public Security Bureau Director Aleksandar Janev during his visit to the Department of Internal Affairs in Prilep.

Janev said that the necessary documentation is currently being prepared, while implementation of the system in this area is expected to begin in the coming months.
More than 40 points have been planned as part of the project in the Bitola Sector of Internal Affairs area, including locations in Prilep.
The equipment and modern technology are intended to ensure more effective traffic control and a faster response from the responsible services.
According to Janev, the use of “Safe City” goes beyond traffic monitoring. The system can assist police in preventing offenses, verifying facts, collecting evidence for legal proceedings, and maintaining public order and peace.
He said that reducing the number of victims in road accidents and improving citizens’ traffic culture are important indicators of the state of road safety.
The director of the Public Security Bureau appealed to drivers, pedestrians and cyclists to comply with traffic signs and rules at all times.
