During the discussion, Lala argued that the Democratic Party is under the control of its chairman, Sali Berisha, who, she said, is preventing the party from being revitalized and functioning under the leadership of new figures.
Bardhi said that a process of change had begun within the Democratic Party and that the new secretariat now consists of 14 young men and women. He stressed that these members should be given the opportunity to contribute and should not be prejudged.
Lala disagreed, stating that the party is led by an old chairman who, according to her, is holding the Democratic Party hostage.
Bardhi responded that this was the journalist’s personal assessment and asked her whether she was a member of the Democratic Party.
Lala clarified that she was in the studio as a journalist and added that Berisha should step aside to make way for a new and vibrant party.
In conclusion, Bardhi stressed that the members make the decision regarding the party’s leader. According to him, a party can be considered held hostage only if its members do not want its chairman.
