Intensified traffic checks conducted from May to August targeting riders of electric scooters, bicycles, motorcycles, mopeds, tricycles and quadricycles resulted in 10,411 traffic violations being recorded.

According to the Ministry of Interior, the most frequent violation was driving without a protective helmet, with 7,303 cases. During this period, authorities also recorded 718 cases of driving on unsuitable surfaces, 401 unregistered or uninsured vehicles, and 322 cases of failing to wear a reflective vest.
In addition to the misdemeanors, authorities also recorded 619 criminal offenses, the majority of which involved driving a vehicle without a driver’s license.
As part of the operation, 423 vehicles were seized: 20 electric scooters and 403 motorcycles, mopeds and tricycles. The Ministry of Interior announced that the intensified checks will continue.
