65 cases of West Nile fever recorded in Macedonia, 60 of them in Skopje

As of September 15, a total of 65 cases of West Nile fever had been recorded in Macedonia. Of these, 60 were classified as confirmed and five as probable cases, according to the latest report by the Institute of Public Health (IPH), Meta reports.

Data by place of residence show that 60 of those infected are from Skopje. Two cases were recorded in Veles, while Kumanovo, Sveti Nikole and Kavadarci each reported one case.

Of the total number, 64 cases are locally acquired. Only one person had a history of travel to Greece, although the incubation period also includes the time spent in Macedonia.
