Today’s protest by students and young people outside the Ministry of Education in Tirana was marked by tensions as protesters threw firecrackers, eggs, water balloons and toilet paper at the building.
“Resign!”, “Down with the government!” and “Come on, young people!” were among the chants from protesters, who gathered to protest against problems that they say remain unresolved.

Journalist Osman Stafa, reporting live from the protest, said there was an increased police presence behind the Ministry of Education building, along with a water cannon vehicle.
The protest was called by students and young people nationwide, with participants from Tirana and other cities across the country gathering to voice their concerns and demand a response from the authorities.
