U.S. President Doanld Trump said in a post on Truth Social that “Venezuelan oil is a gift to the American people.”

He said that America’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve would be refilled with oil from Venezuela.
The decision comes after an agreement announced by Washington and Caracas that gives the United States control over more than 65 billion barrels of crude oil reserves in Latin America.
It is not yet clear when an agreement with Venezuela will be reached or what the benefit would be for Americans. So far, media reports have indicated that U.S. strategic reserves have declined significantly in recent years.
“One of the things I will do with Venezuelan Oil is fill up the National Strategic Reserves which, because of Sleepy Joe Biden, have been essentially emptied. The process of filling them to the maximum will begin very shortly and it is a Gift from Venezuela to the People of the United States. Thank you!” Trump wrote.
