According to the prosecution’s allegations, doctors Ekrem Sefiu and Valdet Rexhepi, in their capacity as public officials, directly requested and received money for providing healthcare services.
The indictment states that Valdet Rexhepi is suspected of requesting and accepting money in six cases, while Ekrem Sefiu allegedly did so in three cases. According to the prosecution, the payments were related to treating and operating on patients, in connection with their official duties.
The nine defendants, F.V., B.Q., F.Xh., B.G., B.A., K.H., S.N., V.Y. and L.K., are suspected of promising, offering or giving the doctors varying sums of money, either directly or through other people, for themselves or for the benefit of their relatives.
The amounts mentioned in the indictment range from 50 to 300 euros. The prosecution suspects that these payments were made as compensation for performing operations on the family members of the accused individuals.
Following the filing of the indictment, the Basic Prosecution Office in Mitrovica asked the court to find the defendants guilty of the criminal offenses attributed to them and punish them in accordance with the law.
