Venezuelan authorities have updated the tragic toll of the powerful earthquakes that shook the country, reporting that the number of lives lost has reached 4,490 people.
The official report confirms that the number of injured remains unchanged at 16,740, while over 32,000 citizens have been forced to seek medical help in hospitals since the moment of the disaster.

About 20,000 residents continue to be sheltered in 108 makeshift shelters, distributed across several regions of the country, where they are receiving necessary assistance.
The majority of those sheltered are concentrated in the coastal state of La Guaira, the area that suffered the most severe damage from the seismic tremors, while in the capital Caracas approximately 6,400 other people are being assisted.
Meanwhile, the seismic situation in Venezuelan territory is not calming down. Statistics show that since June 24, 1,222 aftershocks have been recorded, keeping the state of emergency high for both rescue teams and vulnerable communities.
