A tragic incident has shocked the village of Domen in Postribë, Shkodër, where a 24-year-old woman and her two young children lost their lives in a house fire.

The victims were Bleona Çelaj, 24, and her two children, one aged 3 and the other 1 and a half. The mother and her children had just returned from Germany, intending to spend a few days in their hometown.
Preliminary information indicates that the family had gone during the day to the family’s old house in Domen, which had long been unoccupied, to clean it and stay there.
A gas cylinder was found inside the house and has become the focus of investigators’ initial suspicions. The possibility that the fire was caused by the cylinder exploding has not been ruled out, but the exact cause of the tragedy is expected to be determined only after the investigation is completed.
The emergency teams’ response was hindered by the rugged terrain where the house was located. It takes about 20-30 minutes to walk from the main road to the area, delaying the firefighters’ arrival.
By the time police and fire crews arrived at the scene, the house had been completely destroyed by the fire. All three victims were found inside with no signs of life. According to preliminary information, one of the children was near the mother, while the other was found several meters away.
Under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, the investigative team is continuing its work to determine all the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
