The major fire that engulfed the hills near the Apollonia Archaeological Park in Fier is being brought fully under control after a hours-long battle with the flames.

The operation was supported by full ground and air capabilities, involving firefighters, civil emergency services and aircraft.
The flames had spread across areas that threatened the historic park, as well as olive groves and densely vegetated zones. Thanks to the rapid response and coordination among the emergency structures, these fire hotspots have now been completely brought under control.
