Alta Banka – Belgrade is a shareholder and the institution we have granted approval to enter the market, the governor of the National Bank of North Macedonia, Trajko Sllaveski, said in an evening interview on “Top Tema”. He was asked who the shareholders of Alta Banka in Bitola were.
“I do not know who owns Alta Banka because I do not know the ownership percentages, and I am not interested in that,” Sllaveski said.

Asked about owner Davor Macura, the governor avoided mentioning him by name, saying he had been regarded as reputable by the Austrian authorities.
“If you insist that I mention his name, Macura had a good reputation, as Austrian regulators allowed him to buy shares in an Austrian bank and hold them until a month ago, when he sold them to Raiffeisen. I am not anyone’s lawyer,” said National Bank Governor Trajko Sllaveski.
Sllaveski also said that the 10,000-denar cap on withdrawals from Alta Banka Bitola applies weekly.
“The weekly limit for cash withdrawals from Alta Banka Bitola is 10,000 denars. The week that ended yesterday was a period when someone may have exercised the right to withdraw 30,000 denars. In November there will be five opportunities, meaning five weeks of 10,000 denars each, for a total of 50,000 denars,” said National Bank Governor Trajko Slaveski.
