SDSM today accused Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski of obstructing the country’s progress toward the European Union. According to the party, North Macedonia has fallen behind its neighbors in the integration process.

The party also referred to Von der Leyen’s reaction, in which she described the development as “an important step toward a more complete Union.” Montenegro has closed 21 of 33 chapters and aims to complete negotiations this year, while Albania is making progress. “We were once in the same group, but today we are alongside Kosovo and Serbia,” SDSM said in its statement.
According to the party, Vučić is separating Serbia from the others, while Mickoski, following in his mentor’s footsteps, is isolating Macedonia. SDSM says two factors are driving this process: Russian interests and fear of facing Laura Kovesi.
SDSM stresses that candidate countries must cooperate with the European Public Prosecutor’s Office before accession, not after becoming members. According to the party, this would prevent phone calls from the prime minister’s office and television appearances in which a prosecutor is appointed or dismissed.
The party is demanding that someone be held accountable for the plundering of the state, European funds, tenders, the five tonnes taken across the border, and the public treasury, which, according to the statement, is being treated as loot. “The mafia does not want this, which is why reforms have stalled,” the statement says. SDSM adds that the second deadline has also passed: June 1 had been promised, but now not even a vote is taking place. This, it says, explains why other countries are receiving action plans.
The statement also asks why Mickoski says “not at any cost” and why Iceland, Le Pen and wars are mentioned, while the report on justice and reforms is ignored. SDSM also mentions its satellites, ZNAM, “The Left” and the ZNAM 2.0 Platform, which it says are being used from a distance to distract attention. /Telegrafi/
